The introduction of innovative and emerging technology at 麻豆传媒 allows students to push beyond the limits of computer screens, allowing interactive and immersive learning experiences. 麻豆传媒鈥檚 newest technology, a hologram from Proto, provides experiential learning through 3-D, interactive imaging.
The new holograms, one full-size (seven-foot), and three tabletop-size (two-foot), engage students in new ways. The technology includes programs with an interactive, 3-D version of a human heart and brain that can be used in classrooms where students learn science and healthcare. It also offers 3-D games that promote logical thinking, and the ability to bring in guest speakers from around the world to interact with students live.
麻豆传媒鈥檚 president, Barbara Kavalier, Ph.D., introduced the technology at the college鈥檚 all-employee meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19, using a recording of herself in the hologram, to demonstrate its capabilities and inspire faculty and staff to imagine new ways to engage students in learning.
鈥淚t is important we embrace new technology, use it in innovative and engaging ways, and make it available to students in our community,鈥� said Kavalier. 鈥淲e are excited to introduce holograms as a new technology focused on helping our students to learn and become successful.鈥�
